Slowly I began to change
I came to N.C. spiritually bankrupt, and prepared to drink myself to death. After weeks of 24 hour a day consumption, I found myself at Walter B Jones detox center. I had no idea what I was doing in N.C., but I knew I needed a long term recovery. I found Hope Recovery Homes in one of the many hand outs I was given at WBJ. It said faith based recovery, which was probably the only thing I had never tried before. I was pretty sure faith based was not for me, but I was desperate and now I thank God for that decision. In this program slowly I began to change. I now know that God walks with me everyday, because faith is not believing but it is knowing!!! Hope Recovery Homes has given me a chance to know. I am grateful for all the lessons I have acquired here. All the faith based teachings as well as just how to live my life better on a day to day basis. I learned how to respect myself and my peers. Most of all I learned how to have a relationship with God again, and for that I will be forever grateful!!
